Contest: May is the month to honor Moms

Mom taught us all two lessons. First is to share, second is to give. With Mother’s Day right around the corner, we thought this would be the perfect time to honor the moms who have played an important role in each of our lives.

Beginning today you can share a Haiku created by you to honor that mom who was important in your life and be entered for a chance to win a $100 gift card and a Pfister faucet for that important mom.

A Haiku is a simple 3 line poem with its roots in Japan. There are 5 syllables in the first line, 7 in the middle, and 5 in the last. Usually it tells a story or shares a particular mood. For Mother’s day, write a Haiku about a Mom who is important in your life. For example:

Surprise pancake with
Berry eyes, banana smile
Mom always knew when

Learn more about writing your Haiku at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Haiku. Note that while the three line 5-7-5 format is important, we’re looking for sentiment and originality more than strict adherence to the rules of Haiku. We chose the Haiku because its short but great at conveying images, stories, or memories.

Head to our Facebook page to enter your Haiku today. All entries must be received by May 18th at Noon EST. We will then post ten finalists on the Pfister Facebook timeline for voting. The one with the most ‘likes’ at the end of the contest wins the grand prize.
