Home Décor Trends for 2019 Stay Ahead of Trends Now

It may seem early to start planning a home décor revamp for 2019 when it’s still 2018, but a lot of people make upgrades to their homes before family and friends come to visit for the holidays. It’s better to stay ahead of trends now, so you don’t have to go back to update after the new year.

After doing some independent research we have put together a list of trends for 2019, to inspire your design details.

On the up:

Artificial Nature

One rising trend in the home décor space is incorporating natural elements, such as unfinished woods, exposed brick, or greenery. If you feel like you don’t have a green thumb to maintain a living plant artificial greenery could be the way to go. One trendy organic look is a faux greenery wall, which would be a dramatic accent to an entryway or bathroom.

Natural Wood Tones

The use of artificial nature goes hand and hand with the use of natural wood tones. There has been a shift in the design mindset to move away from plastics and disposable goods, to the use of more environmentally conscious materials and products. The use of natural wood tones has been a shift to embrace wood in its natural state with limited use stains. Wood tones can be incorporated throughout your home décor; as a decorative side table, a beautiful display bowl, or even as a piece of art on your wall.

Brass

One of the biggest comebacks of the last couple of years has been brass. Not the bright and glossy brass of the 1980s, the hue of modern times is used to add a touch of understated luxury. Just as with trends with jewelry, there has been a transition from silver, to nickel, to brass/gold tones. Using subtle touches like cabinet hardware or a visually stunning faucet really adds that touch of glamor to any space. Our showroom partners, Ferguson, call this look brassic – the combination of warm brass tones and classic design. Choosing the right accents or fixtures can make a bold statement about the décor of a room.

Bold Tile

With so many neutral tones and textures, it’s no surprise that an accent piece like tile would be leveraged to make a bold impact. Tile can be such a versatile decorating piece. You can use it on floors, on walls, as a backsplash in a small space, or in an exterior space for some added flair. Tiles with an eye-catching decoration or color can be a great way to add texture and pattern that will complement the overall décor of a space. We really love the trend of bold patterns on cement tiles. They’re durable and can be used throughout your home.

On the way out:

All white kitchens

Along with what’s in for 2019 home décor trends, there are also trends on the way out. All white kitchens are a thing of the past, but you can easily upgrade your kitchen with a few changes. The first is colored cabinets. From dark jewel tones to every grey on the scale, painting cabinets and adding new hardware is an easy upgrade to any kitchen. Another trend in the kitchen are accent rugs. Adding a boldly patterned rug in front of the sink is an easy way to add color, texture, and functional comfort to a space where you’re on your feet a lot. Lastly, if you would like to update your all-white kitchen but aren’t sure of the design motif you want to go with, the best place to start is with the focal point of any kitchen, your faucet. Matte black has been growing in popularity, and works with
