The Arterra Design Story

A perfect blend of classic and and modern design elements, The Arterra bath collection exemplifies the notion of “old is new”. For the classic elements of Arterra, the Pfister design team looked to a previous bathroom faucet from our collection, Tribeca. Most prominently borrowed were the bold, yet not over-powering, faceted surfaces of Tribeca, which harken back to styles popular in the mid-1930s and 1940s.

Bringing modern sensibility and an extended sense of scale to the design, a high-arch spout was developed. To compliment the extended scale of the spout, the height of the handle hubs were also raised. The style of the handles and the cylindrical elements joining the handles to the handle hubs, complete the marriage of old and new and make the faucet transitional in style.

Selecting a Finish for Arterra
Our preference is Arterra in chrome or polished nickel. The high shine and reflection of these finishes showcase the classic look and add to it’s elegance. Ultimately, choose a finish that best suits the interior of your bathroom.

Get Inspired with Arterra
  • Transitional in style, Arterra will work in both traditional and contemporary interiors.
  • Match Arterra with gray toned tile. This was a popular contemporary style in 2014 and is expected to continue as a trend in 2015. Consider offsetting the gray tones by adding a feature wall that brings bright, bold colors to the bathroom.
  • Pairing Arterra with 1930s or 1940s inspired bathroom tiling is a sure-fire hit. For the classic look, use subway tile wainscoting and hex floor tiles. Consider expressing the “Old is New” ethos by combining two classic elements into a new look – white subway tile set in a herringbone pattern.
