These two design styles, on paper, don’t seem like they would work together, but there has been a desire for the comfort of traditional style, mixed with the clean design of modern decor. Out of this want for an updated traditional look evolved the Modern Traditional design trend.

Clean lines with intentional detailing. Nothing too ornate or overly designed.
Classic shapes and curves that are often mimicked in other furniture elements (clawfoot, crown molding, etc.)
Repetitive design motifs throughout the space to create design harmony and balance
